			Palma United Methodist Church
				 Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee of Palma United Methodist Church is privileged to serve in
the areas of compassion, justice and advocacy (UMC Discipline, 2016).
Further, the committee coordinates, plans and carries out the ministries of missions,
health, welfare, Christian Unity, interreligious concerns, church and society issues,
religion and race, and status and role of women.   (UMC Discipline, 2016)
The Outreach Committee of Palma United Methodist Church consists of a chair and 5
committee members.  The committee seeks to meet the above goals at the local, district
and conference levels in addition to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

The ministries of the Outreach committee for 2022 include but are not limited to:

	*Collection of food items for the Marshall County Caring Needline.

	*Maintaining the Blessing Box located in the church parking lot to the left of the
	 church.  The Blessing Box contains food items on a first come first serve basis.

	*Monetary support to local food pantries.

	*Monetary support to Third Place Ministries (District project also called the New to
	 You Shop located in Benton, KY.)

	*Remembering residents in Long Term Care Facilities at Mother’s, Father’s and Veterans Days.

	*Supporting local, district and conference charities.

	*Random acts of kindness to teachers, medical staff, first responders and other
	 community members.

	*Keeping church members appraised of any social and advocacy issues of the church.

	*Carl’s M&M’s for Book of Hope.

The Outreach Committee welcomes ideas for reaching out to others in the local, district and
conference communities.
